Inspired Belonging is a public humanities initiative that cultivates the human capacities of care, community, and self-discovery that make human flourishing possible.

Our workshops create public humanities experiences where writing, reflection, and conversation cultivate belonging, wellbeing, and community connection.

Why Belonging Matters

A strong sense of belonging is directly linked to increased performance, innovation, and retention, which makes it a human need and a critical organizational asset.

“How do we create community? When can we say that we truly belong?”― bell hooks

WORKSHOPS

Our Philosophy

Inspired Belonging believes that creativity, reflection, and meaningful conversation are public goods that should be accessible to everyone. As part of our commitment to community service, we actively pursue grants and partnerships that allow us to offer our workshops at no cost or low cost to participants, ensuring that financial barriers never prevent individuals from engaging in transformative writing, deep listening, and authentic human connection. We see public investment in the humanities as an investment in healthier, more compassionate, and more connected communities.

What People Are Saying

“Daniel and Stephanie are masterful facilitators, who guide their workshop at a casual pace while also following a clear structure. It was refreshing to produce so much raw material in so fast a time and yet not feel rushed. As someone who doesn’t normally write much narrative or biographical work, I left with a definite sense of how the explorations of my personal story could fit into my writing practice.”

“Inspired Belonging is a revival; the workshop drew me back to the place of why I write. I long to connect with others on an authentic and intimate level and the flow of the workshop is a seamless guide. In only two hours, the inner critic was silenced and I feel deeply reconnected, restored, and reinvigorated.”

“This workshop invited me into myself. In other words, from the experience, I realized that I don't spend enough time with my body by exploring its sensations in relation to what's happening around me. Now, I'll begin a more conscious effort to stay in touch with how things are impacting me physically, and to respond in ways that nurture my body. This can only happen if I'm wholly in touch with myself.”
